It's really a shame how few truly good restaurants remain in this area. Hof Höfen is a great destination and easily the best choice in at least a ten mile radius. The ambiance is simple but authentic a beer garden surrounded by nature. The menu features local classics that are prepared with great care and carefully selected ingredients. Service is top notch, not just friendly but also very efficient. It gets busy here but the staff both in front and back of the house consistently succeed. Highlights include the charcuterie platter, the wurst salad and also their fish dishes. The spätzle are good and so are all their salads. An lauem Sommerabend trafen wir unsere Freunde aus den USA. Insgesamt waren wir 12 Personen. Wir bestellten à la Carte und ich war erstaunt, wie schnell alle ihr Nachtessen hatten. Dies, obwohl der Biergarten voll besetzt war und im Saal noch eine Hochzeit feierte. Allen hat das typisch schwäbische Essen sehr gemundet. Die Preise sind moderat und die Bedienung war sehr geduldig, bis sich alle englischsprechenden Gäste auf ein Menü - und nach typisch amerikanischer Manier - mit vielen Sonderwünschen geeinigt hatten.

Ziemlich auf dem Berg, abseits und um geben von Wald, nach oben mit Blick zum Himmel isst man hier auf einem Kiesplatz in klassischer Biergartenmanier. Der Abstecher lohnt sich: Der junge Kellner aus Albanien berät sehr sympathisch; das Steak ist perfekt, die Maultaschen mit Zwiebel-Schmand-Füllung sind ein Erlebnis, der Salat bunt, frisch und lecker. Alle Preis sind reell, die Portionen gross. Wir kommen wieder mit Verstärkung von Freunden und Familie.
