This place is a hidden gem, mostly known by locals. It is located quite far from the shore, on a hill that offers the best view over the lake (and distant mountains when the weather is good). The restaurant has a large terrace and a lawn where you can sit and enjoy the view of your food. Thanks to the trees you are always in the shade, a lot helps while the weather is hot. The restaurant is sweet and decorated in traditional German style. The menu has a wide selection of meat, fish and vegetable dishes, usually German. Sehr viele Schilder verweisen auf den Haldenhof und so haben wir auch noch einen Abstecher gemacht. Wir waren zur Kaffeezeit da und das Lokal war trotz trübem Wetter gut besucht. Die Terasse mit der Wiese ist riesig und am Ende locken noch tolle Liegestühle zum Verweilen mit einem herrlichen Blick auf den See. Nach einem kleinen Anstieg von Sipplingen oder mit die Auto kann man hier gut Rast machen. Leider waren die Erdbeeren auf dem Kuchen recht wässrig und damit alles sehr geschmacklos für den Preis. A negative thing about this hotel/restaurant is the fact that you cannot pay with EC cards other than German EC cards....is this Europe?? The first time I didn't have so many cash with me; only cash was accepted...no European EC cards, no visas... The two experiences we had here were great and tasteful; nice to sit there on a hot day as it was last weeks. The service is excellent, the food is very good. The 'kitchen' they served were the best (and most fresh) we ever tasted and the lunches were also of very good quality. The view is excellent, you can also see the mountains with snow in Switserland. What a pleasure the road that leads to the guest house is already beautiful and if you happen to sit in the right place, there is no time to Instagram your food because you are " distracted from the beautiful view of the Lake Constance and the Alps. Good German cuisine with local products, simple and tasty. And once in a while a dessert on the house. Thank you recently married couple made for this house rests

View on Lake Konstanz was ok, lots of green blocks the view. The staff was fine, not the kindest. Eating... below average. everything must be prepared and then simply heated before serving. I can't believe that a decent piece of meat can be prepared within 10 minutes... the sauce at the meal was moonamine-made, too salty. a decent restaurant does not make the sauce from almondamine
