Holiday Inns are plenty in London but they don't seem to be catching up with the modern hotels that other brands are reinventing with better amenities and free breakfast. The location is of course very close to restaurants and Camden market and train stations so it's convenient. The crowds are a bit rowdy and too much activity on streets late at night. The room we were given was facing an ugly terrace and since it was one night, we didn't bring this up but this is not how one rewards rewards night customers after giving so much business to them. We brought lunch to eat in the lobby since the room wasn't ready but were told in 5 minutes that we could not do so. There is no signage saying any...
I only went into the reception to enquire about staying. The lady would give me information, but made it difficult for me to get answers to my questions. Then the answers she gave me were subtly different to the things I had asked, so were wrong. So the arrogant and slightly offensive attitude, has gotten me feeling a bit antagonised about the place. From the other impressions about the decor etc., it looks like a perfectly nice hotel in a decent location for those that want trendy Camden Town and to be quite close to Central London. However I have not stayed there as I only went to the reception to enquire about their rooms and prices.
Located right in Camden Town and just a 5 min walk from the underground. Modern hotel with updated rooms. Lot's of interesting shopping and dining options in the area especially the Camden Market. I would say probably not the best place for families as it is a little more punk hippy ish. We got a room partially facing the lock but right over the Ice Wharf bar. It got pretty noisy a few nights but never enough to bother our sleeping. Tip Wifi is free in the lobby only so we had to go downstairs each night to check our email. Otherwise, I think it was like 2 pounds for 1 hr. Also they give you a coffee tea maker inside your room.
We had a wonderful stay here for New Years week! Jose was very helpful, and we were able to book relatively short notice. The room was lovely, clean and came with every amenity we needed! The location is just far back enough on the lock to be a refuge, and close enough you can have a great night out, with a convenient return. The staff was friendly and informative. The beds were comfy and the location was perfect for us! Will definitely be back!
