A good restaurant that is all too easy to miss because it's not in the town centre. But it's only 3 km from the town centre; with good parking if needed. The location feels almost rural, a bit like a country house restaurant, but in town. Certainly one of the best restaurants in Villeneuve. We've eaten there several times and never been disappointed. Same tranquil setting, faultless welcome, professional service and good cooking as ever, but the lunchtime formula has changed. It's now shorter and slightly simpler bur still the same quality cooking. The lunchtime formula is now a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains, plus a dessert and coffee and a snip at just 16.50 Euros. A short but good wine list. The starter we chose was softboiled egg on a bed of celeriac puree, with crispy onions and balsamic dressing. As others have remarked, this restaurant is in an unusual location outside of V-s-L. It's a lovely old building but the restaurant is very 1980's in styling and ambience. We waited rather too long for aperitifs but other than the service was impeccable and our food delicious. The only disappointment was the vegetables as they were over cooked and lacked seasoning. The wines were fantastic as were the coffee and truffles. This isn't a suitable restaurant for children but otherwise I would recommend it.

An excellent meal, very French, the staff are extremely attentive, and even with a very large group of Rotarians, they were very efficient. The ambience is simple and very elegant. Our Rotary club hold meeting there frequently and we always enjoy our evening meal at the Rooy.

We went to the Hostellerie du Rooy for a family gathering (about 50 people). The whole dining room was reserved for us. The hostess was extremely nice and helpful, the setting was charming and the food was amazing. I will definitely come back there next time I'm in the area!
