Goldenes Schiff - Reservar uma mesa

Bad Ischl seems pretty dead at the beginning of January but we came upon this restaurant on the river. It looked like it had a nice riverside terrace to open in summer. Most people seemed to be having the lunch menu special so we followed suit. At 8.50 euro for 2 courses this is very good value! The menu changes every day. We started with carrot soup which was delicious. I then had the spinach and ricotta dumplings in wild mushroom sauce and my husband the turkey schnitzel. It was all very tasty.

Elegant restaurant situated inside a luxury hotel along the picturesque Traun River at this quaint spa town of Bad Ischl. Opted for the daily-changing lunch set menu, that day my family totally savored the fresh salad, then followed by delicately tender juicy pork loin, and finished with a mouth-watering apple strudel. The staff are also friendly and attentive to the point!

We stopped over to have a late lunch. We had a pork Schnitzel and a mixed grill. Tge schnitzel was done well, crispy and not too oily. There was berry jam at the side which enhanced the taste. The mixed grill however was oily and the 2 pieces of bacon were burnt. Overall tastes good and very reasonably priced.

We had a lovely experience! The service we received by Daniel was outstanding. He was very welcoming, friendly and professional. It was truly one of the highlights of our day. Very recommended!!

We had dinner here every night for 4 nights. Food was great but the room got really stuffy and warm. Should have an air conditioning installed for summer months especially.
