Jalapenos Cantina Mexican Grill

Great place for comfort Mexican cuisine. We have chips and salsa, vegetarian chili, Burrito Grande, Burrito Bowl. The food was extremely filled. As a self-announcement? Diner, I thought I had hit my game with the Burrito Grande. The Burrito had a good amount of cheese. It wasn't exaggerated, but I could definitely try the mix. It should be. You can choose your filling of ducks, and whether you want fried beans or black beans. The fried beans were good, but I think the next time I go for the black beans as a side, as the fried beans were easy to mushy. I would also like to have seen the chips as a free starter, as is the case with most Mexican restaurants today. We had to pay $3 for the chips...

Jalapeños was one of the few restaurants open when we visited, so we weren't expecting much in terms of the menu. Surprisingly, we were extremely impressed with the service (Julia was amazing), food, and margaritas. We went on a Sunday and the Margarita pitchers were 50% off. We added strawberries to ours and it was so delicious that we would gladly pay full price. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh, tasty, and plentiful. Jalapeños is definitely at the top of our favorite restaurants list, not just in Bar Harbor, but in all of Maine.

Went to dinner while in Bar Harbor and was happy to find a place serving Mexican. I was really able to get a seat when I arrived and chose to sit outside. I ordered chips and salsa, a house margarita, and blacked haddock tacos. The chips and salsa were very good and well seasoned. The tacos were delicious and filling. I loved the seasoning of the fish especially. My margarita was also very good. Overall, a good option to visit when looking for some good other than typical Bar Harbor fare.

Went in at a non-peak hour during the day, so I expected fast and good service. Waitress was new. She attempted to give us a drink we didn't order. She paid little attention to us. Food was awesome. Big portion's. I ordered and probably could of ate the entire burrito by myself, but I shared it with my wife and it was just enough to hold us over. All and all I would recommend it as not a bad place to go.

The portion sizes are generous, prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent. The food is delicious! I definitely recommend this place!
