James Street Old English Chippy

I have related in the antidote that I can fortunately visit again, now that covid is under control. a trip to kimberley always leads to coming this chippy, which is by far the best in front of location. two squids a chips £14. the two couldn't finish the chips, there was so much! service was not fast because the fresh squids were then crushed and after cooking what was good of me. no heated müll here.

I have relatives in the area and so go to this chippy about once a year, it 's by far the best locally. There 's usually a huge queue out of the front door, which shows its reputation ... but it was pouring down yesterday! As well...as fish 'n ' chips does pies, sausages, fish cakes, etc. I 'm a haddock man, and they will readily cook haddock rather than cod if you ask. Haddock chips £6.10.

if they are ever close to or near kimberley in nottinghamshire and a first-class fish and chips eating head directly to the olde english chippy on james road the eating that they serve is fresh and absolutely delicious, the chip shop itself is immaculate clean and. the staff are friendly and helpful they can really not do enough for them.

Daughter told me about the shop she’s gone to for a few years so gave it a try, excellent. Went the other night, fresh cooked fish done to perfection, we usually have fish n mixed and fish n peas, and share with wife, so they...split it for us on the trays. Just right!! What has happened? You could never fault this chippy, the best for miles. Had the worst fish and chips yesterday..... what is going on? Chips and fish wrapped together, so totally wet by the time we got them home (2mins), batter soggy, chips tiny, like...the bits out the bottom of the frier. Come on peps, don’t let the standards drop.

Tonight we ordered two mini fish dishes and one with chips. The fish was beautifully cooked and hot, with a crispy batter. Grace always does a fantastic job and ensures consistent quality. Thank you for a great dining experience! (Masks were worn)

If you're craving seafood, you won't be disappointed here, even though we're far from the coast. The dishes are top-notch and made to order, so be sure to request fish when you arrive. Highly recommend trying this spot!

Excellent fish and chips I come every week for my fix and it never changes absolutely delicious fish, friendly staff and really polite. It’s a must try it never disappoints

Proper fish and chips. Well cooked and good value. The food is cooked in small batches so is always fresh. Be prepared to queue, it’s worth it.
