Japonica - Reservar uma mesa

We were craving Japanese and found this gem near our hotel. With plain decor, fast service this isn't a dining experience for a special event but this is how the Japanese really do eat out. Japanese dine out frequently in plain restaurants and food is fast. So if you're looking for an elegant experience you won't find it here but service is great and authentic and food is pretty good. The sushi is delicious! We had a soba noodle stir fry which to me tasted more Chinese but I'm no expert. I had a tonkatsu bowl which was yum. Next time I'd order differently and get more sushi and try something different but we were satisfied and had a good Japanese fix.

Being a bit of a Japanophile, I like my Japanese cuisine, and the more traditional, the better. Japonica is certainly not fancy, and wasn't busy when I visited. But the steady stream of UberEats Deliveroo couriers gives you an idea that the food is popular with locals. The food was (to my taste-buds) quite close to what I've had in smaller restaurants in Japan, and the menu had dishes I haven't seen here in Oz. If I want a serve of fancy-free, no-frills Japanese food, I know where to go.

We live local and dine at least once a month . The food is always fresh and well presented . The service is fantastic they know and make us feel like kings every time . It’s not a 5 star setting however they make it up with the food and friendly service

I’m always happy with the take away I get from this place. I can recommend everything but especially the Gyoza, scallops, and raw beef salad! Friendly staff and management- thanks and see you soon!

My partner and I have visited Japonica a few times and the food is always very fresh and delicious. Casual dining, reasonably priced, the sashimi and gyoza are a must!
