This should be MINUS 3 stars. ???(You can’t review with no stars checked off.)Smalls Sharing Chili Chicken, tempura style, cool cucumbers, chili sauce.Tempura is a popular Japanese cooking in which food is lightly battered and deep fried to create a light, fluffy but crispy coating. It uses significantly less oil and no breadcrumbs comparing to conventional batter.As you can see from the photo nothing in the dish is tempura style. The batter was hard!!! The chicken sizes were smaller than the cucumber cubes!!! The description should be Sweet Sour Battered Popcorn Chicken.

I ordered crispy tofu bowl. I got a bowl that is not even half filled! I definitely have a sense that the place is nice to sit and has good vibes so you charge more but this is completely unacceptable quantity! Look at the pictures I have taken. I have been to similar places like Earls Kitchen, Cactus Cafe (Only in BC), Browns Social Club for many times and never had this kind of experience there! They also have the same menu and prices, vibes are also almost same.

Emily T was absolutely wonderful. Hands down the best server I’ve ever had at Joey. She was extremely friendly and energetic. She handled our allergy situation very well and was really considerate and helpful. She was so much fun and had a fantastic personality. We had wonderful conversations throughout the whole night and she made our experience here very memorable. I will definitely be requesting her when I come back!

Came here today for a date and celebration with my girlfriend this evening, and was immediately greeted and shown to a table. Our server (Emily T) was amazing and kind, helped a bunch with my shellfish allergy, great conversations, made our date feel complete and perfect. We will definitely be coming back soon! Thank you again!

Always great food at Joey right by the mall. Steaks are cooked perfectly and there is a fun array of appetizers. Service is always quite good too even when busy so thats a big plus. A routine stop of mine for dinner in Winnipeg.
