Dear all, I m back with a few upcoming reviews that have been waiting to be published. If you are in Vienna this is your go to restaurant for choice steak and rare (and amazing) South Dakota beef steak. This restaurant (with a pub feel) is located a few steps underground and we all thought that the early dinner reservation was because we could not get a better time. We ate here at 7 p.m which turns out is regular dinner time in Vienna. So book early to get a table because the restaurant is not big. Secondly, the décor is Austrian American feeling. Visited the place with a group of seven people. The restaurant is small but well maintained. If you do not like steaks forget it. Salads, soup and appetizers are nothing to brag about. But then there comes the steak New Zealand meat, charcoal grilled, dark on the outside, as ordered in the middle (except for rare its not really rare) delicious. Reasonably priced wines. Forget the side dishes. You need lots of time it takes about 1 hour from the order until the steak is served. So plan to spend the entire evening and be patient. Reservation is a must. Prices are reasonable (30 Euros for a large tenderloin steak).

Trully a hidden gem. Hard to get a table (especially for 4 or more), as they start to work on Wendnesday afternoon and you can't reach them before that. So it is better to book for one week ahead. It is a family business, as you can see on photos in the restaurant. Father is chef, mother is serving. Daughter is helping sometimes. Take your time, as preparation takes some time. But this is not a problem. As steaks are THE BEST I ever had. You can see preparation in front of you if you want and talk to owner (barbecue is oppened). Appetizers are also good. Wine choise is big and in special room. MUST TRY!!!!

The Jolly Ox is a busy place. reservations must be made at least a week before you want to go there. The steaks are marvelous. Wines can be selected directly from a shelf in a closet. Wines are good quality at a low price. The service is a bit odd. Prepare mentally for some time to wait between courses.
