Judys Famous Pies - Reservar mesa

Lemon meringue and skyberry cake. both of them were mediocre. the lemon filling was fluorescent yellow and gel-like. the cake was quite with a lot of meringue. they said they made their own fillings. if they do, change the recipe and use it real eggs and lemons. ditch artificial colors. the heavens had too much mais strength in the filling and was also heavy gel consistency, but it had many real heavens. It tastes good if they had not gone over with mais strength it would have gone into excellent. crust was normal. so far the best cake I had been from aschatz and my own. in comparison, I will not be back when they change and improve the fillings.

As for the raspberry pie, it suffered from an overabundance of cornstarch, giving it a heavy, gel-like consistency, although it did contain plenty of real raspberries. The flavor was decent, but if they had used less cornstarch, it could have been excellent. The crust was just average. In comparison, the best pies I've had so far were from Aschatz and my own baking. Unless they make some significant improvements to their fillings, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Last year was our first experience with Judy's Pies, and they were absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, this year was a different story. The top crust was thick and more like cookie dough rather than pie dough — almost raw. Additionally, the filling was hardly there. I tried calling to express my concerns, but the response I received was unhelpful: "I don't know what to tell you." It's really disappointing.

We ordered a small cherry pie, a blueberry pie, and a Kentucky Derby pie. All three were excellent!
