warning! very disappointing customer service in the vanilla disc café in sorrento. drive 2 and half hours in the peak traffic special to enjoy their famous vanilla slice. we are back customers who regularly only drive for this delicate, but as it took so long to come here, this time we also bought some fish and chips for lunch from the next door shop and ordered coffee, drinks and vanilla slices of just fine foods dessert and sit in front of their business to eat. this image harasses us the owner to leave his load, because we did not buy all our food from his load, as they see from the pictures that the place was not packed, there were empty tables, so it is not as if they had lost a trade f...

So this is the home of the award winning vanilla slice. On a road trip to the Sorrento area, I just had to try it to see what all the fuss was about. Now the vanilla slice in my view was quite pricey $7.50 each) but they were also quite large. I took these home and enjoyed a slice as a late afternoon snack. Oh. My. Goodness. It was AH-MAZING. Crispy pastry, thick custard that wasn't overly sweet and the slightest scraping of jam on the bottom layer that completely changed the whole dessert. Definitely the best vanilla slice I've ever had but the price is a bit overboard. I would have given 5 five stars had the cost been more reasonable. This has been a Sorrento staple for over 25 years, having changed ownership early on but continuing in the tradition. Fine food is meant as really good not necessarily gourmet. This is a cafe, not a restaurant. The vanilla slice keeps the crowds returning over and over, but we love their freshly made sandwiches and also the lasagne. The service is a lot nicer than it used to be they went through a snooty period about ten years ago. They also have really interesting chocolates especially good if you 're interested in getting some to take home for an after dinner treat!

inhales a vanilla slice accompanied by a hot chic shortly after lunch. the best thing I ever had, even better than the last time we ate here if that's possible. when we ordered, there was a large tablet full of snot blocks. they were almost gone when we left 20 minutes later.?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Really rude staff, had a girl throw all the cutlery on the table... And refused to be of any assistance. It really isn't hard to ask if you'd like anything let alone smile. We understood it may not be possible to add chicken to the salad but we asked just incase the response was quiet crude. Bottled table water would be nice as well. All in all should of got fish and chips... Much friendlier. I always put on a smile and thank the staff and have done so today, though I just won't be coming back.

A good variety of café style foods. The club sandwich was lovely, my wife's avocado smash was good, and children had poached eggs with soldiers. The coffee was very good as well. Vanilla slice is rather popular and is more a french vanilla slice and rather good. The lady who served us was extremely pleasant. The only issue was that it was rather busy and other customers tend to jump in your seat as soon as they see your legs taking weight.

I did not try anything from their lunch menu or their breakfast menu (they stopped it), but what I tried and I think most people have to try or try was the vanille disc. the custard in the vanilla was wonderful, but the vanilla disc is probably better to share than to eat by itself. *so that the breakfast menu is not available, the lunch break ends when the lunch menu is available.

Busy busy busy and they turn over tonnes of their vanilla slices, they are nice. Ample seating outside they gladly accommodated our large group (of 10) during the busy Christmas/NY period. We never felt rushed and they took the time and patience to take down all our orders Reserve uma mesa agora

The vanilla slice was good, but service was pretty bad and the food is way overpriced. I asked a number of times about whether one of their items had milk in it and got different answers from multiple staff members. Drinks were mediocre.
