Kahuna Joe's Hawaiian Shave Ice

I was excited to try this place because it is always busy and the reviews are great for the most part. I waited over 30 minutes for 2 snow cones which was a bit inconvenient but I can get past that, I wish the staff would have communicated the estimated wait time. I ordered a root beer with heavy cream (my favorite anywhere) and blue coconut with vanilla. The root beer was absolutely disgusting, it tasted like licorice, and the “heavy cream” was sweetened condensed milk which is not what I ordered, unfortunately it was not edible and I had to throw it out. When my snow cone finally arrived, it was so large that it looked like a whole bag of ice. Unfortunately, it was placed in a cup sideways and when I set it down on the table, it flopped over. I noticed that where the ice cream had been placed was pure white, indicating that the top of the original cone had been cut off and placed on a new cone, rather than being remade properly. This resulted in stains on my clothes and skin. Overall, I was disappointed by this lack of attention to detail and the inconvenience it caused.

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant based on the great reviews! However, I have to admit that the snow cone I ordered was the worst I've ever had. I got my usual traditional flavor (blue/pink bubble gum) and it was so disgusting that I only took one bite before throwing it away. The syrups tasted gross, almost like alcohol. I can't find another way to describe it. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this place.

this place is great! loves the relaxed atmosphere and always plays good melodies on the outside speakers. if they can't make it to the beach, this is the next best place to hang.

the family had different tastes, all super! the customer service was so great, and the atmosphere was perfect. really loved this perfect little place.
