Katana - Reservar uma mesa

Only thing good about this restaurant is the food and the chefs that make it. The place is cold...a few heaters around the room.....so wear a jacket. There is no wall separation of each section, just one huge room so the noise level is at it’s maximum. There is no calmness or relaxation as you are rushed to eat and drink within the 1 1/2 hour time period given to each reservation before the next group is standing behind you, breathing down your necks waiting to take your seat. To pay your bill you stand in line with everyone who ate at the same sitting with only one cashier. You pay lots for this unrelaxed, noisy, rushed atmosphere. This is not the experience we had in Japan.

Went for salmon which is listed on their website menu. I had even called and asked about the salmon as Kobe 's which is my restaurant of choice has prawns but no salmon. So excited and went for a birthday dinner only to be told upon seated and ordering that sorry we ran out of salmon today . Not to mention it looks getto inside. Stick to Kobe 's or Osaka 's. if you live in the Surrey/Langley area Katana 's would be convenient but be warned do not waste your time here. You will need to head downtown unfortunately but at least your dinner will make it worth the drive.

We had gone there before the pandemic. It’s changed with outrageous prices. The main meals started at 36, going as high as 80 if you want steak. The starters were horrible a salad with four pieces of lettuce and your only choice of dressing was Thousand Island, the French Onion Soup was just okay, and no dessert. To me I could go anywhere else and get a meal without the entertainment. I mean we all had the chicken , but the as they make there meals in front of you , the rice was first, and by time everything else was ready the rice was lukewarm .

We celebrated a special occasion had 1 grill seating to ourselves. Although we were all seated it took quite some time before the Chef began prepping our meals. The Chef provided a great show as he demonstrated his skills. Food was fresh and tasty. Nice to see that there is a local option to get this type of experience.

Waited over an hour for our food. We got here on time. Had to wait for other people, strangers, to show up and order before we got our food. That’s insane! Horrible service.
