Ken's Beijing - Reservar uma mesa

Our recent experience at this restaurant was exceptional. Two families unexpectedly visited us and we were short on food, so we decided to place a large and diverse order. The online ordering system was user-friendly and the delivery was prompt. The food exceeded all expectations, much to the delight of our foodie guests. Everyone enjoyed the meal, with many making appreciative comments and wishing the restaurant was closer to them. Having traveled extensively in China, we have a preference for local restaurants over international chains, and we found the sauces and spicing to be perfect. Thank you to Mr Ken and the kitchen team for providing us with such delicious food.

Let down by the sauces. We ordered a few dishes they arrived on time and as ordered. I would say they were all very good to excellent and with one exception….the sauces. They were in edible and tasteless. Ken if you upped your sauce game you would rock. I’m a chef so take my tip and take your business to the next level. Or buy a decent cook book for your sauces and don’t use a cheap supplier as they were just gloopy tasteless slime. (I made my own in 10 mins to serve up and threw the ones that arrived away) and we all had a great meal.

Last night, we tried our first takeaway from Ken's and we were extremely impressed. The food was hot, delicious, and packed with flavor, without being too heavy or "gloopy" like some other Chinese takeout places. The presentation was excellent, and we appreciated that the packaging was recyclable. Ken himself was charming, and we were happy to see that they were thriving during lockdown. As we enjoyed our meal, we all agreed that it was one of the best Chinese takeaways we've ever had. We will definitely be returning!

Good food and service, though as someone else has pointed out some of the sauces can be a little gloopy and lacking depth of flavour particularly those you would expect to display a strong spicy presence such as from the Szechuan region. Please do not dumb down original dishes to suit ‘the British taste’. Most people are now fairly well travelled and used to ‘original’ flavours and those that are not can buy more bland dishes from the likes of M&S.

I visited this restaurant after hearing great reviews. It is a take-out only establishment. I was not disappointed - the food was fresh, hot, and not greasy. It was truly delicious.
