My wife and I drove via Schwarzwald Hochstraße from Baden Baden which was beautiful and as perfect an Alpine drive as can be but not for those not use to driving in the mountains in Germany. We were impressed with this restaurant as we were of The beauty getting there. The A5 is shorter and more direct. The food was very good and the presentation just as nice. If you want elegant dining this restaurant is not for you. If you are looking for local fare with a local ambience then this is the place. Very Black Forrest atmosphere which is similar to Bavarian Hof restaurants we have been to. The two waitresses we very attentive and the food was well cooked which is different than well done which...
Wir wurden noch nie so unfreundlich empfangen in einem Restaurant, wie im Knusperhäuschen und das vom Chef persönlich! Trotz Reservierung mit Kinderstuhl war dieser angeblich den ganzen Abend im Betrieb. Die nachträglich bestellte Portion Spätzle hat uns nie erreicht. Nach dem Wunsch zu bezahlen, haben wir trotz mehrmaliger Erinnerung erst 45 min später die Rechnung bekommen. Da es kein richtiges Kassensystem gibt, waren auf unserer Rechnung plötzlich zusätzlich noch 3 Flammkuchen + 3 Biere. Die Stimmung von Chef und Chefin schlägt sich im Arbeitsklima nieder. Das Restaurant an sich ist aber total schnucklig und eine wunderschöne Terrasse. Das Essen war auch sehr lecker.
At the beginning of this month my daughter and I were in Germany, visiting a very old friend in a nursing home in Achern. One of the days we were there we decided to have lunch at this restaurant/cafe. The weather was gorgeous so we say outside in the courtyard. Very nice food and, although we spoke no German and the waitress spoke no English, we managed to get a nice lunch in very pretty surroundings. Hope to return.
