Koarl & Julia's Restaurant

I highly recommend this restaurant whether as a resident at the Alpine Club or making the trip from elsewhere. We were 4 adults and 4 kids and everybody cleared their plates because the food was so tasty. And we went back a second time later in the week because we had enjoyed it so much.As well as traditional Austrian food, we were delighted to see a Thai curry, an asian-style chicken and asparagus risotto on the menu which gave us a good selection to choose from. We tried the Thai curry, the chicken cordon-bleu, the asian chicken, the schnitzel and the risotto. This restaurant is a little off the beaten track but very adjacent to our hotel so, in order to avoid getting a taxi down to Schladming we decided to try it. Restaurant was not very busy, but we had a lovely Austrian meal and decided to return later in the week for a fondu. However, the reception we got the second time was not very friendly so we were disappointed. The food was fine but as this was our last night of the ski trip we were left a little deflated.

We ate here twice as we didn't want to go to the town and we were not disappointed. The restaurant looks a bit tired and hopefully will be refurbished with the units. But the staff are really nice and friendly and the food is very good. There is a good choice on the menu as well as daily specials. We enjoyed both our meals even if a bit on the expensive side with wine but without doubt it is the best thing about this 'tired' resort.

This is quite a new restaurant, situated on the outskirts of Schladming but well worth that walk up the hill. We visited with a group of friends for dinner. Food was really fresh, well cooked and presented. They also have a good selection of beers and wines. Couldn't fault the service. My only negative is that it lacked atmosphere but I put this down to the fact it was just newly opened and still finding its feet.

We ate there last night. The prices are right but not much on the menu. Service was fine. Place was clean with an OK decor. Seeming operator/manager has enough English to get by. Lucky me - I benefit in so many ways from having married a beautiful German girl over 51 years ago, so the language in this area is not a problem for us
