Kobe Sushi & Hibachi Steak House

my wife and I have just tried cove sushi bar in danforth and santa fe. the place was empty when we came in and we soon found out why. we ordered thunfish and eel nigiri and both were bland and tasteless. the tempura roll had a little taste, but was not entirely up to the standards of sushi we eat at most Chinese buffets. the expensive rolls we ordered were the pretty boy and sexy lady and both were so bad that they were almost unusable. we finished them because we paid for them, but it was a process. the handsome boy roll tasted like processed chemicals and the sexy lady had a layer of avocado on the outside that was simply disgusting. nothing wrong with the avocado itself, it was just a ter...

Went to happy hour again a past weekend, and it wasn't as great as my August 1 visit. The sushi was still palatable, but the portions were smaller and there were changes to how the sushi was prepared i.e. the eel previously had sweet eel sauce dressed over it and in this visit, it was completely dry . These changes and smaller portions just did not lend to the same experience we had before with them, thus a tad bit disappointed. Still enjoyed dinner and service was decent, but just was not the same. this could have been a 4 because the ducks at the hibachi were quite good and the quantities were good. the curtains were the appetizers and the sauces. the mistsuppet or whatever in the round a broth with a piece of fresh mushroom thrown in. small salat had a kind of white dressing on it, not the arch-typical taste ginger dressing served on most of this place. one of the two sauces served with the meal was a kind of white substance (can be just as dressing) also not typical of a Hibachi grill. other sauces were not offered to us, although they had several bottles more alternating soßen beside us on the table. they work as the main course...read more

are they not stupid from the street mall this place was in. they also got the atmosphere of the new yorker chef from the apfelstadt. the price was a bit high, but it was worth it! fresh and good is what it is about.

our favorite place for partying. so much fun, especially when they celebrate birthdays! great atmosphere and fabulous eating. we love the hibachi and sushi!
