Koori - Reservar uma mesa

I was recommended this place by a friend as a good alternative to the French and Italian cuisines which Courchevel is packed with. I also like Japanese cuisine so I went with friends to try it.It is located in one of the luxury hotels. The decor is charm and warm although it has no resemblance to Japanese cuisine. The service is friendly but slow. It took a while even to get us the menus. The food is average at best. The sushi was not bad but nothing special that makes you come back. We ordered fish for the main course (black cod and sea bass), both which were so bad that I could not have more than one bite. We dined at Koori end Feb. 2017 it was an amazing culinary experience with great service. So we invited friends there for dinner a few days later on 7 April 2017. Unfortunately this time the service was very slow, interrupted and unproffessional. Appetizers arrived promptly but the Aubergine though tasty its portions were tiny and the King Prawn Tempura were rather small. We waited 20 min after the appetizers for sushis and rolls to arrive. Our Koori rolls selection was mixed up and it took 1/2 an hour to get the right item and another 15 minutes after that to finally get the main dishes. Visited yesterday worst Japanese place in memory, and believe me, I’ve been to lots. Worse that the cheapest Japanese canteen in London. Every single dish wasn’t good enough to finish. Wagyu beef ruined. Tempura prawns one bite enough to throw away. Sashimi...seemed to be made from scraps, not high grade fish. Even plain rice was too sour to eat absolutely disgraceful. Constant confusion with the orders, the waiter kept bringing green tea in a bag telling it is matcha. Not even worth for a dish let alone the prices they charge. And they have the audacity to call themselves the best in Courchevel... Edamame was the highlight of the evening

KOORI is one of the restaurants inside the amazing Hotel L'APOGÉE Courchevel, they have as well one with French Cousine, and some bars & cigars loung. Drinks & sake were amazing, service was perfect, the decor super, but the restaurant was empty (only the 4 of us) and their sushi had nothing special and really expensive. We do not recommend.

Like everything in Courcevel, you pay a premium, but I was not disappointed. Japanese cuisine with a French flair and excellent service. The dining room was a bit noisy but otherwise beautiful.
