"We had seen the excellent reviews of this restaurant so went there for a meal on Thursday evening. We were met at the large and shut gates by a purple-haired woman who told us to come back on Friday, then turned on her heel and stalked off. No apology and no suggestion of somewhere else nearby - just didn't care.Maybe she makes enough profit on her own personal terms but the local Tourist Board must be appalled at her attitude to visitors. The food may well be good (if you get any - we'll never know!) but the reception stinks.Be warned!"

The Auberge is decorated in Brocante style is very nice. Very friendly staff at arrival. Don’t expect fancy plates but from scratch home made very well prepared dishes. The portions are very large. The owner and chef is a very friendly women regularly drops by tables to check if everything is ok. We dined 2 times very well included nice wine from one of the vineyards in the Luberon for 38 euro all in price which is an excellent price/valueStarting with homemade aperitifs du maison in many flavors and different small bowls with appetizers like humus. Bottle of cold water standard on the table. Wine of choice red rose or white. For starters we had both times assortment de farcies (9 different s...

Doesn't look that promising but actually is rather pleasant once you arrive. A quirky and pretty airconed room with a nice welcome. We were a party of six and went hungry as is advised, well forget that as you need to have an enormous appetite to do the menu justice.Aperitifs served with a nice selection of dips/toasts were generous. Next a huge selection of potted starters, there was something for anyone there.Next came a very strange cold scrambled egg and tomato dish (typique provencal apparently) which nobody liked really.Guinea fowl next, a bit dry, again hearty, by now all were rather jaded.Massive portions of cheese to follow, mainly smelly and goaty and we're all past it to be honest....

Everything about this restaurant was excellent - the warm welcome we received when we arrived, the decor and ambiance of the restaurant itself and the friendly and helpful assistance with interpreting the menu. Then there was the food - it was absolutely delicious! And lots of it. We were extremely grateful that our lovely B&B hosts told us about this restaurant, which is only open Friday (lunch and dinner), Saturday (lunch and dinner) and Sunday lunch. The food kept arriving at our table, course after course, plus two bottles of wine - all of this for 34 euros each. No wonder it was full of locals. Sadly visitors probably don't get to know about it unless it is recommended, as in our case.

Go when you are hungry, go with friends and family and count on staying a while. The food Joëlle is serving is fresh, all local ingredients and prepared home style - no tricks and no modern technical cooking. It's one of the few places where you can really enjoy everything - from the variety of small pots for starters, through the risotto and the fish stew - it is all good. We have had dinner here at least 10 times and not once we have been disappointed. We have eaten too much sometimes but that is out fault - it is just too good.Don't tell anyone: just come by yourself and enjoy!
