We were staying 50m away from this restaurant and had seen it was No.2 on TA for restaurants in Vars. We went twice purely because we didn 't have a great meal on our first visit and wanted to give it a second chance. On our...first visit I felt the staff were a bit rush rush and they seemed to be more attentive towards the 'regulars '. We ordered the soup to start which was very nice. My husband ordered the steak which he said was nice, our daughters ordered the Pierrade where you cook the meat (duck, pork, chicken beef yourself and I ordered the boite fondu. Unfortunately my dish was cold within 5 minutes (i don 't think it had been cooked properly and it was like chewing gum so i sent it...
Great hospitality, lovely and available waitress, varied food, delicious regional specialities (fondue) beautiful scenery : warm, intimate, friendly and traditional place (fireplace).Various wines of quality at an affordable price. We had a great lunch.seasonings dishes by the chief himself are amazing and subtils.If you are...looking for a good restaurant during your skiing week, this is where you need to go! Truly awful. Lovely setting, and a nice space, but we quickly realised we were not in for a gourmand treat! We therefore ordered the pierrade, but even this turned out to be a msitake. Raw chicken with salad on it on the plate? Really? In this day and age? Surely we all know that raw chicken should be nowhere near anything else we are going to eat without cooking it? Poor produce, not enough staff for the space. Bad, bad bad.
we are here for lunch on the basis of the new sessellift. it was lunchtime and it looked like we got the last unpreserved table. the menu was eating local and it was very good. the pasta dish with local cheese for example. they have. some local IPA type beer that are also good. service was friendly. a total of one to go back.
