La Caleche - Reservar uma mesa

Dining at La Caleche proved to be a mixed experience. A party of eight (four adults, four children was too large for the waiting staff and chef alike, with missed orders and lengthy delays the result. The good? La Caleche makes a fairly decent pizza, although I agree with comments made elsewhere regarding the lack of mozzarella strange! There 's a decent choice of traditional or 'classic ' pizzas, and a range of more 'exotic ' options including curry pizza stranger still! The bad? Missed drinks orders, and waiting more than an hour for a lasagne and a penne bolognese while the rest of our party consumed their (by now luke warm pizzas. We stopped by for some pizza on our way to our hotel on the first night. We had no idea what we were walking into but the pizza oven by the front of the restaurant was very enticing. We ordered two pizzas and they were good. Good amount of fillings and good base. Our bases were better than a few of the others as ours weren't burnt. The pizzas were at a good size so it didn't matter if the corner was burnt anyway. We left our bag in the restaurant and they were very kind and kept it overnight for us to collect the next day.

The takeaway pizzas are huge we took a medium and enough to feed 2 so don't event want to imagine the large size). Great toppings maybe less choice the. If you were eating in but still great quality and value. Would recommend as a takeaway place don't know about eating in.

We ordered a large vegetarian pizza on our way through, the pizza was cooked in good time and was humongous! Fresh ingredients and handmade dough but under-seasoned and uncut once opened, which proved tricky!

Slightly away from the busy part, lovely little restaurant which we popped into last min with the family. Would defiantly go back. Really nice food and Staff where great.
