La Casa Pizzeria - Reservar mesa

The last time I visited this restaurant was 6 years ago, it WAS a real hidden gem. When I walked in this evening nothing had changed and I was hoping the food would be just as good as I remembered. Service was slow which surprised us as it was a Sunday night and pretty empty. We were given some olives while we ordered (the nicest part of the meal unfortunately). My boyfriend ordered the garlic focaccia with caramelised onion; the bits that had cheese and onion on were very tasty but this was only about 30% of the focaccia, the rest of the bread was over cooked and bland. We loved this place, a lot! Friendly, polite and professional staff. The two young women serving at the tables were excellent. The food was amazing. I had king prawns with pesto as a starter (to die for and pizza with fried aubergines (oh my goodness . P.s. I’m Italian, from Sicily, and I know what good food tastes like ; Alessandro (Alex , the chef/pizzaiolo and owner of the restaurant, is incredibly talented and passionate. Despite being the only cook, he’s very efficient he told me that sadly he has not been able to recruit anyone for the last year or so because of brexit.

Four of us dined here mid-week. It’s a lovely individual restaurant and the service was good. Two ordered Calamari Fritti to start, one had Cocktail di Gambaretti and I chose Chele di Granchio. These were described as Crab Claws, but I don’t think they had seen a crab! They were something reconstituted attached to a bit of claw and the menu should say so. To follow my friends had Vitello Alla Milanese, Linguine Alla Marinara and I had Linguine Alle Vongole, which was nice. We’ll happily return.

Have had many good meals here previously, and I can’t fault the food. However they are closing/selling the business and have gone down hill massively recently and offer very poor service. We wished to place a takeaway order for 8 people, had confirmed it the night before that we would be placing the order, when phoning up on the day they refused to take the order. Regardless of whether you are selling, it’s extremely poor customer service. Reserve uma mesa agora

We prebooked to attend the restaurant as a family of six. Once we arrived at the restaurant we were taken to an area of seating that can only be described as a corridor, on a table for four. We were really squashed at the table and it was very uncomfortable, we had to place condiments and our water on the windowsill just to eat our meal. The food however, was delicious absolutely no complaints there!

Fantastic meal in La Casa last night. We were a tricky table dietary needs wise with a vegan, gluten free and mushrooms allergy. They were incredibly accommodating tweaking dishes for us. Beautiful food, friendly service. What’s there not to like!

This is authentic and worth a trip. We have been here 2 times to eat inside and tonight a takeaway. The good here is absolutely delicious and the pizzas from the wood burning oven brilliant. Obviously, we will be going back again and again.
