La Conserverie-Converserie

We’d been traveling for 7 weeks and Bordeaux was our last stop and frankly we were a bit burned out from trying new places everywhere. La Conserverie was around the corner from our Airbnb and immediately felt like home. It became our home bar the last week we were in France. They have use of a terrace, at least for now, by the old temple next door, inside seating and a small walled in patio in back. It’s cozy and comfortable with wonderful wines and appetizers to choose from. The young woman who owns it recently purchased the place from her mother and is continuing the tradition, with small changes. Met a good friend here for lunch at her suggestion. So happy we did this. We do not spend enough time in the Chartron area of Bordeaux. This place is a mixture of wine bar, and Bistro. Loved it. The dining area has tables or sofa/chair combos with lower tables. Art is really interesting, So the food was really great. We started with a Baked Camembert and honey. Delicious. Our three plats were great. Nice wine by the glass. Hostess has some English. We will return.

Wow what a great discovery on our recent visit to Bordeaux; it was an unexpected find but one that we don't regret! Fantastic venue; exactly what we were hoping to find in Bordeaux and such great service. We did the tasting package so x 4 glasses of wine with a plate of meat and bread for 15 euros which was such a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Thank you for leaving us with fond memories of our Bordeaux trip!!

This place was very surprising, after the entrance you will find yourself on a long hall. Variety of wines at really affordable prices. We ate some cheese and sausages plate which was really tasty. Dont miss if your in the area.

Do not visit Bordeaux without coming here. Walk past at your peril. Fantastic food and a fantastic wine menu. Excellent service and the food is fantastic with great wine to choose from. Absolute gem of a place an we will return.
