La Divine Comedie - Reservar uma mesa

When the seagulls follow the trawler it is because they know sardines will be thrown into the sea. The Divine Comedie restaurant was close by the hotel where I was staying. It is neither in a salubrious part of town nor is it obviously attractive...and it is overlooked by some slightly dishevelled buildings. Despite this, I noticed that it was overflowing with customers enjoying the food, so I went early on Saturday night (night before the Tour de France was to roll into town) and ordered the fois gras and toasts, salad, steak frites, ice cream and a bottle of wine and spent the next couple of hours enjoying the food and the head waiter's enthusiasm and dedication to his customers. Went to this restaurant because it was near our hotel and we were tired and hungry after a long journey. The staff were immediately friendly and welcoming. It is primarily a pizza restaurant, but they do a good selection of other dishes. One of us...had pizza and the other had pasta. Both were delicious. The ambience was relaxed and there seemed to be many local people dining there. Service was good without being too attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Recommended to the restaurant by an outstanding lady at Ibis it was ultimately disappointing. Arrived at 6.45pm after many frustrations with a French blockade strike. Told they don’t open until 7 but we could have a drink in the cold outside area. Went to the...bar over then back. Starter onion soup fine but the service level ordinary. Steak of indifferent quality although nicely cooked. Overall not quite as expected.

we were a party of 10 for lunch shortly after Christmas. what a great sound, great pizzas, great service with welcoming atmosphere. highly recommended.
