La Petite France - Reservar uma mesa

We were driving from Normandy to the Loire and knew we needed to stop for lunch, found La Petite France in Tripadvisor and thought we'd give it a go. Once we had found it we truly wondered if it was the right place. No one was in the restaurant and we couldn't smell any food. Were we in for a wonderful surprise!! There was no menu posted, or carte supplied. The proprietor simply came out and provided us with our limited options. It WAS 145pm, so we understood. We muddled through with our minimal French and agreed on housemate terrine to start, and some sort of beef steak which turned out to be steak au poivre. Oh my!! We were on our way back to the UK and for once planned ahead we chose La Petite France and were not disappointed. The hotel was excellent value for money the restaurant was a little more expensive but still not bad i would much prefer to spend our cash on a decent meal than sleeping anyway! The owners were really friendly welcoming is the word I would use for both the owners and the establishment. The rooms were basic but still very good for the price the bathrooms were fine free and fast internet. I would definitely recommend this place for a stopover if you are looking for somewhere half a day's drive short of the tunnel

In what seems to be the middle of nowhere this hotel/restaurant is one of the wonders of France. Warning....don't eat for several hours before sitting down to some of the best food you will eat, prepared by a man who really enjoys cooking and preparing his ingredients. We survived the salads but failed to complete the main course and I was in despair at not being able to manage the tiramasu. We are noiw planning our next trip, going out of our way to try the food again....next time only the main and the dessert!

At the crossroads between the port of Ouistreham and Paris, this little restaurant located just a few seconds away from the train station offered much more than expected at first sight. The food, the prices, the people... all good reasons for us to come back there! Many thanks to Michel (the owner and chef) for making us feel so special every single time we enter his place, even though we know he's cheating on us with other customers! Those Frenchmen!

It was quiet difficult to find a restaurant open is on sundaynight. Finally we found this restaurant. And it was delicious diner expercience! Good selection of food and a very kind staff.
