La Quinta Inn By Wyndham West Long Branch

Main hotel Hallway was dark and smelled badly. We were originally given room #149 and there was a strong smell of mold in it. The man at the desk agreed to switch us to room #148 which still smelled but not as badly. There were many other issues with room #148. BathTub floor had yellow stains in it. The shower curtain was stained. The well in the wall where the toilet paper goes was rusty. Room carpeting was torn. Part of the room where the microwave was there were no lights so u can’t see what you are doing while making yourself coffee. No blankets were provided, just sheets. Telephone had no service. Impressed management actually is responsive!My reason for the high star review is for the most part because of an issue which was resolved with management. Upon leaving I noticed there was an issue with the pricing and I could have gotten a better deal when I originally paid. I brought this to the managers attention and he was calm cool and listened to my story. He issued me a slight refund which honestly surprised me because he didn't actually have to and in my experience with motels which is a lot I would usually not have been listened to and definitely not helped in this situation. Front desk staff provided poor service. When asked if we could check in early as our flight from California to Newark was early, we were curtly told to call back at 1:00. And when asked if we could change into bathing suits in the bathroom the answer was a short “no”. All this even though there were only about six cars in the parking lot! Totally not customer service oriented! The room seemed clean, but the bathroom had no towel racks/hooks and the lighting was bad. The towels were thin. The bathtub had no place to hang a wet wash rag and the tub was obviously old. The bathroom as well as the towels need an upgrade.

Was one of the cheap hotels in the are.. the breakfast was not good. The hallway was dark and musty. Walked by the office and smell of Indian food was very strong. No elevator to the rooms..Next time, I will spend a little more on a better hotel.

Used to be a perfect hotel years ago but recently it was disgusting couldn't sleep because of all of the roaches towels were disgusting and as I see from the other reviews I'm not
