Took the tasting menu with wine pairings and almost all the dishes were infallible. Quality of the dishes were closer to a 2* and clearly superior than the other 1* restaurants we had eaten at in the Normandy region. Highly recommended the sous vide egg with caviar just amazing. I could have eaten just these! Wine pairings were very good but much better at Stéphane Carbone in Caen. Service was also excellent. They had little stools just for handbags! A few tables also had young ish kids and their meals also looked great (made whatever they asked for)! Also highly recommend the breakfast if staying at the hotel overnight. Our meal was absolutely wonderful. In truth, it was quite possibly one of our best ever restaurant meals. I highly recommend it. The whole experience, meal, restaurant and staff, was a delight. Alas, as we're we're only passing through Argentan, we were very time limited, with only a hour and a half for lunch, so unfortunately weren't able to savour a full meal at this restaurant. We had two courses, main meal and dessert plus numerous amuse bouche and pre desserts which were lovely. All staff were extremely efficient, attentive and friendly (and, thankfully for us, also spoke English).

I cannot fault the food or the service. We visit this restaurant every time that we come to France. Arnaud Viel deserves a second Michelin star the presentation is first class and the blending of scents and flavours creates an indescribable gastronomic experience that must be experienced. It can be difficult to make a reservation and sometimes they do not respond to emails and messages. In short, it is well worth a visit and though a little pricey it is worth every euro cent.

Fantastic again! Our third visit and greeted like old friends. The dining was superb and inventive. We had the same slightly old fashioned suite as before but the bed v comfortable. Thinking of reversing our holiday next year so we stay here on our last night as the food is such a treat. I used the spa this time. The water could have been a bit hotter but it was very relaxing. Friendly staff and a lovely time.

This is a very special restaurant, sophisticated cuisine served in a delightful room. Service is extremely good as is the food. Although the size of portions is quite modest, the number of extra courses and the concentration of flavour means that a visit will be a real treat for your taste-buds.
