La Table Du Pigonnet

We loved La Table! There were several options for dinner: ala carts, 2 selection (main and dessert), or 3 selection (starter, main, and dessert). We did the 2 options but up graded a main. We loved the oysters and the mushroom tart as starters. I had scallops and my d had the beef (medium). All done as expected. The waiter with bread was a little slow but he warmed up and offered us bread as we went and even asked if we wanted coffee or tea after dinner. No complaints. Good food and generally good service. I think we were waited in by at least 3 different people. One can easily spot the experienced vs not. I have no problem with people learning the craft.

We stayed at this beautiful chateau and ate the best meal of our 2 weeks in France. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The sommelier went away and typed up a list of her favourite chateaux for wine tasting (we visited 2 and they were great). The food was divine. Expensive but a real treat.

This splace is great for a casual night, the trerrace is beautiful. We arrived without having booked a table and very kindly, they managed to find a table for us, perfectly located. The food was good and the staff friendly.

Four inch piece of kitchen plastic in my fois gras. Comped 2 glasses of champagne after meal. Deeply regret going there.
