This looks like an average French bar or restaurant from outside, but the food served in here is cooked and presented like it would be in the finest restaurant in Paris, but without the Parisian prices that go with it! We had an evening meal here and both had, probably, the best steaks that we have ever had. We were pointed in this direction by the French neighbours of the gite we are staying in so pleased they did. Very little English is spoken by the staff, which was OK for us, but the staff are really friendly. The wine is reasonably priced too. We had a meal for two, including wine for 64 euros, which would have been double in some other restaurants.
This is an absolute hidden gem with food of a Michelin star quality, without the Michelin star price! 29 euros will get you three courses on a Saturday evening in a lovely old building with a choice of starters, main course and dessert. The main course that I had was beef cooked with a foie gras sauce, which was to die for. The dessert is always a choice of chocolate, vanilla or fruit theme all done in a different way, and always delicious. All the ingredients seem top notch. Wine is reasonably priced too. Always a memorable experience.
We are here 2 nights in a row as it was so good. The food presentation is to the standard you would expect in a Michelin star restaurant everything we ordered was excellent, simply the best food we had ever had. The service was perfect the restaurant is very relaxed, and they were very accommodating to the dog. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, it was definitely the highlight of our holiday.
I love this place. I’ve made several visits over the years, and it always excels. The food is creative and brilliantly cooked. The building is awesome. The wine good and cheap. And the staff? They just couldn’t be more welcoming and charming. But it helps if you speak French! Lunch with wine for 11€? Incroyable!!
