This restaurant, part of the lovely Le Chambard hotel in Kaysersberg, was our choice the first night of the three we stayed there. Now let's start with the good stuff! The taste and quality of what we ate was by far the best of the three dinners we had in the area. Now to the rest! The chef Olivier has a great name, but the selections of the menu were very limited, and we could only find one item each we wanted to eat at all!(Steak for me, onion tart for my wife . The specials board consisted ONLY of venison dishes, which we did not want! In the end we split our 2 plates between us. The service from the outset was snobbish and condescending. Horrible service, mediocre food and overpriced. The chef clearly lacks passion love for food. Good example of the French cuisine still living in past centuries. Amuse was ok (prob from the 2 Michelin star sister restaurant), main course was cold and, after sending back, was clearly heated in microwave and added some sauce to hide the mishab. EUR42 for few slices of cold cote de veau (from the microwave) french fries is a (bad) joke. Had to ask for waiter and sommelier several times. And about 15 minutes for getting the bill, which came with plenty of rude behavior. Tip: the Intermarche supermarket is just a 5 minute walk away.

Such a disappointing experience. We were seated at the entrance of the restaurant (which is separated from the main area) where we could hardly get any attention to order food or drinks. One of the main courses arrived cold, then was warmed up in a microwave which is a disgrace for a restaurant in France. Then we couldn’t get the sommelier to order the wine. So our food was finished when the drinks arrived. Then we couldn’t get someone to bring the bill. It was a very frustrating experience overall. Never again!

Excellent local cuisine feature shakrut and other Alsatian specialties. This is a small sister restaurant to the 2 star Michelin located in the hotel. Same chef. The good was fantastic, paired with a wonderful Riesling. The home made ice cream is sinful. Very reasonable.
