It's weekend and we celebrated two birthdays. We were a group of 14 persons and one dog... the menu was pre-ordered obviously.The restaurant is a traditional Austrian Wirtshaus, somewhere in the countryside. The village is called Ottenschlag / Mühlviertel. It's about 20 minutes out of Linz. The restaurant is in a traditional farmhouse, and the trip to getting there is a very scenic one.We did "Ritteressen" meaning we ate like the knights. Though admittedly more civilized, with knife and fork. The main course (we knew we would get A LOT of food, so we skipped the starters) consisting of ribs, schnitzel, roasted duck, roasted chicken, and pork roast were served along with 2 types of dumplings...

Seit über 25 Jahre besuche ich den Bergerwirt. Die Küche ist gleichbleibend gut. Das Schweinsbratl mit Natursafterl, Mehlknödel und Krautsalat ein echter Genuss!!!Hier wird noch traditionell gekocht. Ebenso sind die Suppen gut zubereitet und wenn man noch Platz hat, dann sollte man die Kardinalschnitte unbedingt probieren!Danke an das gesamte Team, weiter so!

Der Schweinsbraten ist der Beste. Die Blunzen ist auch nicht schlecht. Die Bewirtung wie immer ausgezeichnet. Kommen immer gerne. PS: Nachspeise, meine Schwiegermutter schwört auf die Kardinalsschnitte.
