L'Artista Restaurant

Had a group of 8 to entertain for dinner and Italian was the choice and settled on this long time location on Hastings. I don't think I've been for 10 years and I wasn't sure what to expect but I loved the classic ambiance, the service was fantastic and the dishes we had were well done and very tasty. Really nice job of the sauces. We had a mussel and tomato soup that was delicious as were the gamberoni in a rose sauce.The only criticism is I should have ordered my pasta a little more al dente than it came and I wish they would get rid of the plasticized menus as it just feels really cheap which is a shame because everything else is quite well done in an enjoyable old school way. It doesn't look like much, but let me tell you, the food was Devine! I had the special pollo con gambrobi, and my husband had the veal Parmigianofollowed by the most delicious canolli. Excellent service, good size portions, and a lovely atmosphere. It really is a fabulous place. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! You can really feel the family restaurant vibe, and you can see and hear everyone enjoying their time/food. Staff was incredibly kind, went above and beyond, and the food was some of the best I've ever eaten. I will be going back here again very soon and could not recommend it more!

Good Italian Restaurant in North Burnaby, food was authentic and fresh. The menu had good variety and catered to our different tastes. We enjoyed it and would return. The lasagna in particular was very tasty and the tomato sauce was full of flavour.

The plates, as usual, were great. L'Artista never fails when it comes to the Linguine alla Vongole.
