L'arzenais - Reservar uma mesa

So we were walking from Carcassonne to Arzens on our first day of the Chemin de Piedmont. This is the pilgrimage walk to Santiago Spain that follows the foothills of the Pyrenees. Incredibly beautiful and very uncrowned. Anyway, not a lot of options in Arzens, but this bar restaurant had great wine and pizza. We found that in rural areas of this part of France, pizza was often the only choice that was going to be less than 40 euros for the two of us. Very friendly and really great wood-fired pizza. This region of France has some incredible Rose's. Reasonably priced as well.

The best steak of the holiday was at L'arzenais. A relatively small village restaurant outside Carcassonne, it was one of the best experiences of our trip. The food was well prepared and presented by a very friendly host. The restaurant appeared to have been recently decorated and refurbished very clean and welcoming.

Beautiful terrace! Christian has feasted on us, homemade pizzas are hearty and delicious. A special mention for the Arzenes! A gourmet plate and a very good and well served home foie gras! It's worth the detour. We'll be back with pleasure if we get back to the corner.
