L'atelier - Reservar uma mesa

Three of us had dinner at L'Atelier last night, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Apéritifs were lovely and the hors d'oeurves delicious. There were two prix fixe menus, one at 26€ and one at 34€ we all opted for the less expensive entrées were things like saumon carpaccio mains were a delicious layered beef, very tender or a poisson en papillote or a Lomo pork dish we didn't have the fish, but the other two were excellent. Chocolate crème brulée or a citron glacé or another choice I can't remember rounded out the desserts. Bread was fresh and warm, wine list simple and adequate, service was attentive and fun. We spend part of our year in France and dine out regularly. This restaurant was to us a delightful surprise. It had an excellent choice of menu and the food was well presented and delicious. As the name implies it is housed in an old workshop which has been imaginatively transformed. The pleasant atmosphere was enhanced by the relaxed friendliness of the proprietor. The aperitif maison is not to be missed. Booking is essential as we were lucky enough to just get in by the skin of our teeth on a Monday.

I went here for lunch with my father and sister and it really was quite delicious. We ordered the menu de jour which was extremely good value and had smoked trout blinis to start, poached chicken in a cream sauce and rice and chocolate mousse with fresh orange. It was all immaculately presented and very good. Front of house is the husband who has a good sense of humour made us feel very well looked after. I would definitely recommend eating here. And I thought the husband quite dishy too!
