On a trip to Chantilly to see the beautiful Chateau its art and surroundings we took a workshop on making the renowned delicacy Crème de Chantilly at the charming Atelier de la Chantilly in the center of the village. It was fantastic- taught by a master of this delight, Bertrand, the hour was laced with stories and explanations of the history of it the area told by someone who clearly loves his home. It was a great hands on way to experience a slice of history. If making Crème is not your thing, do stop at the lovely tea room itself to taste this wonder in all its complexities. But be prepared: it will ruin you for whipped cream for life.
