Lavenham feels like a step back in time with its medieval-style architecture and quaint shops selling cakes for just twenty pence. The village also boasts a selection of restaurants that are truly exceptional. Having previously enjoyed a fantastic meal at Maison Bleue in Bury St. Edmunds, I was thrilled to discover that its sister restaurant, The Great House, was located in this picturesque village. Housed in a building dating back to the 14th or 15th century and renovated in the 18th century, the restaurant exudes charm and history. Sitting next to the grand fireplace in the dining room is a unique experience in itself.
