A relatively small place but clearly popular with the locals. The one woman at the front managed to keep really good service to all the tables. Great food, good sized portions. a choice of about 6 8 mains. Bill came to 75 euros for 2 people having 3 courses and house wine. The menu is obviously in french (its chalked on a blackboard) but the waitress was at hand to explain anything that we could translate ourselves. We ate here twice (2 days in a row) and the menu had changed a bit on the second day so we had plenty of choice. The crumble was gorgeus and a huge portion!
We have a house near Charleville and visit the historic city center quite often. Most of the time we combine it with a lunch. This time we picked Le 10 after a recommendation by our neighbours. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a artichoke soup to die for and a pigeonneau, (squab a young domestic pigeon. Though I am not known to be a sweet tooth, the soup au fraise (strawberry soup with basil meringue was the perfect end to a perfect dinner. The service is casual and friendly. It is not cheap but a good value for the price. They are worth Le 10 grading. :
I will start with the reason for the 4 and not a 5. It laks finesse. Glasses were not completely clean and seasoning was not always top. Now the positive notes. Super cozy restaurant with 26 seats. All products were fresh. Gravadlax was superb, the artichoke missed flavour. The iberico meat was again super but the risotto had an overwhelming cheese taste. The deserts were very nice. Nice restaurant but not an absolute must.
We went to lux and france for a couple of days. Going out for dinner every night. None of them impressed me, even though they were highly rated. Le10 was really amazing, the whole experience, service and the quality of the food. I even ordered the starter again for desert. Thats how amazing it was. Main and desert were delicious as well. But the starter was an eleven out of ten.
