Le Basilic - Reservar uma mesa

Dinner at this restaurant was one of the most unique dining experiences I have ever had. The place itself is tiny, with about 16 seats, arranged on the evening I was there as 3 tables. The kitchen is basically in the same room. The decor is a large collection of objects and trinkets bought in Thailand by the couple who own the restaurant on their yearly trips there. The food is authentic and imaginative, cooked by the (Peruvian) half of the couple. She spent a year in Thailand studying their cuisine, and has returned every year since. I have walked by Basilic for years without noticing it. Indeed: Basilic is a hidden gem. Without a friend telling it was an excellent restaurant, I might never have discovered it. But, once, you do, you are in for a superb experience! Quite frankly, it is *the* best Thai food I have had in Switzerland (from Lucern to Basel to Geneva . The owner is a trained Chef who got her education in Bangkok and who keeps on returning to fine tune her skills. And it surely shows and tastes! I would say the results comes close to the level of that of the notorious Buffet of the Mandarin Oriental in BKK. Very good standard of food....the interior design is querky and quaint. Not a lot of tables which means you are well served, quickly and the friendly touch pervades. A good choice for a romantic meal or special event.

This place feels like you've been invited to a chef's home. Don't expect to be served quickly, this is a place to take your time (and have a drink, chat while waiting for your plate).

Very personal and friendly ambiance. Little place for max. 20 guests. Tasty kitchen in a hously enviroment. Defenetly recommended. Have fun and taste.
