Special day spoiled by arrogant and rude proprietor. We live in France and run a small restaurant so we are very aware of the pressures on businesses in the sector, however we are also aware that customer service is paramount and even if you cannot raise a smile for your clients, courtesy costs nothing, especially from the proprietor. My French wife and I went to ‘Belharra Café’ on the 14th August; we ate early as we had an hour or so drive to get home. We have both been under the weather for a while; me having recently lost my mum and my wife suffering from total exhaustion. Really great spot to sit and eat. Food was decent at reasonable prices the waiter knew we we’re English and just spoke over us when we tried ordering in french. Ok so we aren’t fluent but we can read a menu and work out your snide comments to other diners. how are we ever going to improve when our attempts are dismissed. Anyway food came and was good. We didn’t want desserts or coffee and the waiter had a hussy fit. Started slating us in french. Something about English only wanting to eat at McDonald’s. oh how the surrounding french couples laughed as we sat there feeling like the evenings entertainment. First time was a Saturday night and luckily we had a table by 7pm as by 8pm there were a lot of people waiting for tables. Lovely sea front location. We both had the set menu which was excellent value for money. The staff were brilliant, it's a very large place and the were always busy. On our second visit was a Friday night and we decided to have the mixed fish plate, again this was amazing. The wine and beer was reasonably priced unlike next door. We don't normally visit the same place twice but this was lovely.

For anyone looking for a nice spot at Capbreton port to have lunch this is it. A great atmosphere created by friendly staff and sea view. The effectiveness of waiters was unbelievable with our food arriving within minutes. Food tasted great from the burgers to the salads and the sea food was great aswell. Would absolutely come back and recommend for anyone.

During a brief stay we went to this restaurant 3 times, once for drinks only mid afternoon to get away from the rain, once for dinner and lastly for lunch outside in the sun.
