Le Bistro de la Halle

As with other reviewers we had been cruising the canal with Le boat. Seeking out restaurants in this area was certainly a problem, especially as our week away included a bank holiday. Years back we had eaten in this establishment so a return was on the cards, it has changed hands, the lunch was fantastic value and the food excellent, as was the rose wine. Regrettably we were told that they do not open for dinner during may, however the young lady offered to cook us a main course and bring it down to the boat yard later in the afternoon, which she did, a delecious chicken dish with orzo pasta, green beans and olives, and we had to force her to take a sensible amount of money for this service,...

We started our Le Boat canal trip in Le Mas d'Agenais. We arrived late morning to do some shopping to provision the boat. We found this lovely restaurant on the town square. They had a large gathering for a special occasion already scheduled, but graciously made accommodations for our party of six for lunch. The food was very good. As other reviewers have noted, the menu changes depending on what's available for them to prepare. If you're near this town, its worth stopping here for the food.

Sur les avis de tripadvisor, nous sommes allés dans ce bistrot, les yeux fermés... Des formules pas chères, avec frites baignant dans l'huile et viande immangeable. A éviter, la verrine façon tarte au citron: un biscuit style palet breton, recouvert d'une espèce de crème citronnée et bien collante, le tout copieusement recouvert de chantilly en bombe.... Bref, très déçus, pas bon et pourtant nous ne sommes pas des clients difficiles.

On ne peut que recommander ce petit restaurant où vous serez bien accueilli tout près de la voie verte et du canal. Nous avons apprécié les plats copieux, simples et bien préparés avec des produits locaux à des prix serrés.Et servis avec le sourire sous une halle magnifique et à l'hombre bien agréable...

Restaurant très accueillant situé sous les halles de cette charmante ville. Terrasse très appréciable et nourriture bonne de qualité. Service très aimable
