As myself and my parents were out wandering the lovely streets of Villafranche on a warm Autumn afternoon we decided to go for lunch. We came to a small, lively restaraunt in the sun and sat down at a table, place was rather busy as not many other resteraunts were open granted it was October 31st, menus came quick enough and we decided what we wanted. We have visited this restaurant before and although one of the waiters was extremely rude and very shouty the food was ok so today we decided to give it another go whilst visiting ville France. When we arrived at the main seating area it was a little cold and was drizzling a little so we saw 2 small tables under cover which we was happy to sit at but upon asking the rude waiter from before if we could sit there, he shouted at us that we couldn't sit there and we had to go and sit at the back on the grand tables. This place has a lot of local flavor, both in the staff and the food. We don't speak French, but they were very patient and figured out what we need. They were so kind and friendly to our children and made it clear that we were welcome even if the kiddos squawked a bit.It was a day after the mushroom festival and the champignon soufflé they served was wonderful. A vegetarian plate, pomme frites for the kiddos, excellent local wine, great cappuccino, a cool view of the castle, and delightful people...what more could you want?

Situated within the ramparts of the stunning village of Villefranche de Conflent, this is a pleasant little cafe. As it was sunny we sat in the pleasant courtyard, but I should add that the interior bar/cafe is really cosy and nicely decorated.We only wanted drinks, but I must say that the food we saw being served looked very good. The prices are also very reasonable with the plat du jour circa 7 Euros.Our waiter was very friendly and the service was good. Reserve uma mesa agora

We had a lunch here recently after visiting the Grottes de la Grande Canalette and were most impressed. The portions were very generous and extremely tasty. My wife had the quiche and I had the pizza - it looked almost like a quiche with a very deep filling and was stupendously tasty. Wine and mineral water were both reasonably priced.Staff very helpful.All in all, a very good choice.

One of only a couple of cafes in Villefranch, Le Canigou or Fireman's cafe is a nice place to stop for a drink or meal. It is at the south end of the Vauban town. It serves food and occasionally has live music. Service can occasionally be slow but that can be said of several cafes I've been to of late. Inside is a collection of fireman memorabilia from helmets to badges.

This is a fab little hideaway for drinks did not eat there but was made feel very welcome a firefighter runs this place and omg they are true hero's! Very friendly good wine whats not to like!

This is a bar used by locals for lunch so you know it is going to be unpretentious and good value. The Catalan sausage is spicy and meaty and therefore very tasty. Reserve uma mesa agora

Me and my husband and two children took a couple of drinks here. We thought it was a relaxed place. A good atmosphere and near a "Champinjon" store.

Went for coffee and pastries with friends. Good quality coffee served hot, outside space is best for atmosphere.
