I selected the Carrousel restaurant on the Net for a visit with two American clients interested in the Loire Valley wines. The place is much larger than depicted by the photos on the Web. The decor is bright, elegant without being pompous. The service was perfect, the menus attractive. We selected for lunch the 23€ menu, which was a great value. I particularly liked in addtion to the standard well thought dishes the recommendation for more country side dishes such as the Pork feet dish I had. I am used to take clients to lunch and this restaurant will stand on top of my list in Saumur. I will not be surprised if this establishement gets a Michelin star any time soon. We have been coming to Saumur for fourteen years and normally visit during the summer and love this place. Came in November and December. Totally different menu using meat, fish and vegetables in season and all excellent. Varied choices and all outstanding. Staff and service second to none. Everyone is made welcome whether it is your first time or you are a regular visitor. The staff are lovely and will do their utmost to ensure your visit is enjoyable. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. We visit at least once every week and visit for six weeks in summer and four in winter.

Ate here this evening with other half. Started with sweetmeats in bechamel which was very tasty along with my foie gras. Both sublime. We followed with the duck which was cooked precisely to taste. Finally they kept the best til last: three creme brulees. The service was attentive and unobtrusive. The bill was also a nice surprise too. This place is a hidden jewel. Music was a bit whacky but you can forgive that when you have great food to eat. Try this place as you won't be disappointed.

We have never been disappointed by this restaurant. If anything, the menu has improved as has the decor over the last 2 years. The service was impeccable this visit and the food was superb. Loved the trilogie of crème brûlée for dessert. The restaurant was fully booked and this says everything!

After doing the usual wander around the tourist trail we fell upon this restaurant. What a wonderful surprise. Fabulous food and lovely staff and all at a great price made this meal the outstanding meal of our trip.
