Le De Rome - Reservar uma mesa

I was welcomed with enthusiasm and settled for the plat du jour of 1/2 a chicken with baked potatoes and veg, all perfectly cooked with a jug of chilled water and bread of course. The bill including 2 glasses of superb rose came to euros 15.80. I was offered cheese or sweet but frankly could manage no more. I am sure that there are classier places in Sospel, in a town that I love, but this was just right for me after a 5 hour walk in hot weather. I do not know when I have been more satisfied with the offer.

I came in at 11.30am asking for a capuccino and the woman just shrugged her shoulders and looked very unenthusiastic. Before she could even say anything i just told her to forget it and i walked off. I suppose it was not an order for a big lunch that they were expecting but surely i should be able to just order a coffee whenever i want???? Terrible attitude...they just lost a customer. Be warned...if you want to just order coffee just before 12 here, they'll just fob you off!

It was past the normal lunch hour and we found this restaurant ..entrance is a door above a few steps...then into a bar area with the seating area round the corner. Cosy and accommodating. The hostess invited us in...a special Lady!...made us feel comfortable. Brought menus and suggested a kiddies plate for the 3 young ones. Just ideal for them. The food was good and we will return! What a pleasant surprise and a pleasure to be there and she (the hostess) is terrific!

It's Sospel's local bar and it's also a great place to eat. The dish of the day is varied and always excellent. Very good local ingredients, carefully prepared and served with a smile. The owners are super nice.

I recommend this local restaurant, homemade cuisine, the staff are pleasant and friendly.
