Le Grand Bleu - Reservar uma mesa

Full of hope based on the reviews, we dined at this restaurant last evening. We chose grilled lobster. Everything about the meal, except our G&T and wine, was extremely disappointing. We usually find something good to say but sadly can't on this occasion. The lady who sat to our right pushed her plate away after trying her particular dish, as had the lady who'd occupied the same table earlier. It could have been a bad night for the Chef but our lunch today at Bar et Brasserie Alexandre excelled and it cost only half the price. Advice is to go to restaurants that artisans and locals go to, not the tourists.

We were fortunate a friend booked a table on the top terrace of this restaurant for us Saturday lunch time. The views across the lagoon and its oyster beds was priceless. The restaurant is clean the staff attentive enough but nothing special; not what we had experienced during the rest of our trip to this magical region. Perhaps we had been spoilt to date and our expectations were too high. The food was good crab well dressed but 32 euros for a platter of gambas!

We had lunch at Le Grand Bleu on a very busy Friday afternoon. Because it was so busy we suspect the kitchen was overwhelmed. Our meals were tepid temperature and over cooked. We chose the dorade and the steaks. The tomato salad was good. Service was friendly, but slow, again, given the volume of diners. This restaurant has a good reputation, but clearly struggles when under pressure. Too bad.

The restaurant is in quite a touristic area yet it is quite local. The place is always full and it serves excellent sea food.

Great place, wonderful service and delicious. GreT fish soup and various main dishes that were a romp IOU’s.
