Driving across Provence in search of our hotel and we were hungry. We hit this tiny T junction in the middle of nowhere so far as we could tell and there were two restaurants on opposite sides of the road. A careful look indicated that Le Grand Saule was clearly the busier and much more popular. Accordingly we drove round and parked outside. The waiter, there were several but he seemed to be the Matron de die of the place offered us a table. A very laconic attitude with very good english, he gently teased us into our order, commented on the food and delivered olives to start with.
