I can recall the number of times in my life I have sent dishes back, so rarely, so infrequently; I eat everything and I'm not fussy. From the more expensive Menu du Jour today, I chose prawn salad, followed by salmon. The prawns were not fresh. They weren't off, of course, but not fresh. The lettuce had specks of those slimy rotten leaves you get in the bag after a few days. OK, I said nothing, The salmon dish was disgusting. The chef simply had no idea what he was doing, it seemed. Salmon smothered in an totally unsympathetic sauce, a digusting spoonful of rather old-looking ratatouille, and a measure of boiled rice. I sent it back as uneatable. Today 's Formulaire salmon was covered in a disgusting, overpowering sauce and the vegetables were overcooked boiled courgette (horrible) and carrots 'confit ' soggy and over sweetened. We both found this inedible and sent it back to the kitchen uneaten. We ordered again and the duck hearts were better and salmon without the sauce or vegetables was good too. When it came to paying the manager wanted to charge us for four meals instead of the two we had eaten. She argued about it and said if we didn 't like the food it was our fault. 3 people, 3 courses no complaints (except maybe the baked potato was the smallest, I’ve ever seen) …. Charcuterie, duck salmon carpaccio were great, steak, confit kebab were fantastic; small baked potato was cooked perfectly sour cream was gorgeous!!! Absolutely amazing chocolate fondant super lemon tart!!!! Service was fabulous attentive friendly, without being overbearing pushy. Strongly recommend will be back!!!!!!

A fantastic lunchtime menu, super friendly staff, and a delicious meal. A lovely place to sit and have a typically French lunch in the centre of town.
