Le Portofino - Reservar uma mesa

Just a 2 minute walk from our hotel, the lady there gave us a 15% discount card for the Portofino. A restaurant serving Italian and Portuguese food and seafood, we were warmly welcomed and shown to a pleasant table. The tables are arranged in such a way as to have a maximum of privacy, the chairs are really comfortable (not always the case! and as we ate we realised that we could easily hear what we were saying to each other! Having recently eaten in several restaurants where we had to shout to be heard above the surrounding noise this was a definite plus! The prices were very reasonable, the food good and the service quick and efficient.

Visited early on a Saturday evening and was initially very impressed. Choice was wide, everything from burgers to lobster. Our salmon with hollandaise and fillet steak with bernaise to cook on stone we're fabulous, but sadly there it ended, no offer of desserts or coffees. Ended up feeling neglected. Ok it was Saturday night and quite full when we left but didn't they know that ?

We were not expecting much after a long travel day but were happily surprised by the warm welcome, the friendly service and the very honest dishes we selected. The piccata marsala sauce was delicious and the fresh linguine it was served with very good. I had the linguine bolonaise which were generous and tasty as well. The house wine was perfect to accompany the meal.

We watched as several other people got served and left before we got our meals. The waiter seems more concerned about cleaning tables for imaginary customers than serving real ones.

Nice place we have eaten here a couple of times. There is quite a large menu with plenty to choose from. The toilets are very good and very clean. Which is a big thing.
