We came here because I was really lusting for a good Poulet a la Creme. I was very disappointed. We ordered the more expensive Menu . The first course of pumpkin soup was excellent. The second course, Coquilles St Jacques, was also excellent. But the main course, and the reason for my visit, the Poulet a la Creme, was a big disappointment. The chicken was dry (as if it had been frozen and then cooked too quickly) and the morel mushrooms were gritty. To be fair, I must say that the other members of our party did not mention that the chicken dish was sub-par but I tasted the other cuts of chicken and still felt they were disappointing. We came here because it was in the Michelin guide but were frankly a bit disappointed. The place is more like a cafe than a restaurant, with the radio blaring far too loudly and twee touches everywhere (comical cacti as table decorations, would you believe). The food was OK but not at all special, and the desserts were probably bought-in. Madame spoke to us at the end, perhaps, we thought, because she was interested to know who it was who had complained about the radio (twice, before it was turned down).

Outstanding French cuisine secret gem hidden in the Montagnat countryside, just outside of Bourg en Bresse and near exit 7 on the A42. We came and enjoyed the Menu du Jour for the modest sum of €19 for 3 courses with French local ingredients. The restaurant is run by a very welcoming local young family We enjoyed our experience so much that we went back for frog legs (to order in advance) €29/person. The kids meal , also freshly cooked,was a success with our son.
