I think this must be my 5th review of this restaurant. Probably a record, for me. And frankly 5 star reviews seem almost superfluous now, as that’s all that anyone seems to give it! But every meal sends us away so elated, that it seems a positive duty to give them another plug. The chef – whom we’ve got to know a little bit over the years – is ridiculously modest about what he does. And if the space were more pompous and service more stuffy and formal (instead of warm, chatty and full of humour, as it is) I’m sure they would already have a Michelin star. There is nowhere I would rather stop to dine (and therefore spend the night between Northern France and our home in the Languedoc. Indeed there is nowhere near that home that comes near it. 3 outstanding courses plus a couple of sophisticated amuse-bouches and a pre-dessert for 32 Euros seems unbeatable value. The welcome is exceptionally warm. Even the 3 year old son of the owners shakes hands with every diner before heading for his bed. (He's almost worth the booking on his own! Not for the first time, we arrived exhausted and left on an absolute high!

This was one of two recommendations from our host company whilst on a business trip to Issoire and Im so glad the other one was closed. The restaurant was quite busy but when as a group of 7 people we turned up we were welcomed with open arms. We were told that diner would take about 2 hours from start to finish and within minutes it was. A set menu with options and 3 or 4 in between specials made for an exceptional meal. Many thanks.

Visited the restaurant as a group of five people. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. The food was excellent. And very good value for money. Would happily return.

It's simply amazing, a privilege to eat there. The standard of service and cooking is 5 star. We recommend a visit.
